The Corporate #SPLITS Challenge
Challenge your colleagues to the #SPLITS: over the course of several months, mobility expert Lucia Tam will conduct weekly workshops to teach how to get into that enviable splits position. Through specific warm-ups and stretches, you will learn how to train your mind to allow your hips and hamstrings to relax into the pose, loosening up tight muscles caused by working at a desk for long hours, and preventing future aches and pains.
The exercises will help to create greater awareness about the importance of posture and regular stretching, and give participants the opportunity to address specific posture-related pains and seek solutions with sports therapist Lucia Tam.
At the end of the training period, the best splits will win prizes (and bragging rights)!
Why learn the splits?
Not only does the splits look super cool, but practicing to get into the splits position lengthens your hamstrings and opens your hips, both of which are often tight due to long hours of sitting. Without the opportunity to stretch out, tight hamstrings and hips can lead to chronic back pains in the long term.
